In 2018, a UK based firm surveyed 25 cities across Canada and compared the availability of tech talent, entrepreneurial spirit, venture capital, internet speeds and cost of living.  It put Kitchener-Waterloo-Cambridge in first place for the best cities and tech hubs to start a business in Canada.  The region also ranked the third most affordable in the study.

The University of Waterloo has become one of the country’s leading universities with 30,000 full and part-time students in undergraduate and graduate programs. Conestoga College has risen to become one of Canada’s premier polytechnic institutes.
